Ethanol
In response to climate change, ethanol stands out as a key technological solution for building a new era of sustainable mobility. As the biofuel with the lowest carbon footprint in the world, ethanol can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to gasoline.

Sugar
As the world’s largest producer, a position it has held for over 30 years, Brazil accounts for over 50% of global trade. Currently, more than 145 countries import sweeteners manufactured in Brazil. UNICA members account for 54% of national production, primarily destined for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

Bioelectricity
The sugarcane and bioenergy sector ins Brazil’s leading producer of bioelectricity. This energy source is non-intermittent and primarily generated during the sugarcane harvest season. The sector’s bioelectricity output accounts for approximately 4% of the country’s total electricity consumption – enough to power over 11 million homes.

CBIO
The Descarbonization Credit (CBio), established under Brazil’s National Biofuels Policy (RenovaBio), is one of the country’s most important tools for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In just five years, CBio issuance has helped prevent the release of over 147 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
